A truck is dangling off a ledge after an accident on a highway in Jiachuan Town, Wangcang county, Guangyuan city, southwest Chinas Sichuan province, 14 July 2014. A driver in Sichuan found himself in a terrifying predicament when he was hit off the side of an elevated road and left dangling over the edge on July 14, Oriental Daily reports. While the driver, surnamed Yang, tried to turn around on his way to a highway in Jiachuanzhen, his truck was hit by a vehicle from behind, pushing his red truck halfway off a cliffs edge where it teetered precariously. Yang was trapped and helpless in his truck. Certain that he would die, he took out his cell phone and called his mother, telling her: do not wait for me for dinner tonight. Frantic, his mother continued to ask what had happened, but he did not want to scare her so he refused to tell. After saying what he believed were his last words, he hung up the phone. Thankfully, a rescue team arrived not long after and saved Yang.
