The Ryfylke Museum is the regional museum for the municipalities Forsand , Strand , Hjelmeland , Suldal , Sauda , Finnøy , Rennesøy and Kvitsøy . The region includes, the island, fjord and mountain landscape Ryfylke in Rogaland. High up on the hillside with a panorama view over Hylsfjorden lies Li, almost 300 steep meters right up from the fjord. There are 13 buildings at this farm, all dated to the 17- and 1800s, and all containing plentiful original objects. The placement of the buildings for various usage gives the farmyard a definite mediaeval charm. These buildings have all been built using traditional handicraft methods whose roots lie far back in time. The farmyard is one of those most worthy of protection in this part of the country and thus has national value. Norway’s Directorate for Cultural Heritage listed the farm in 1974.
