A grand hallway in the former asylum. WEST YORKSHIRE; UK: CHILLING photographs have shown inside an abandoned psychiatric hospital where Jimmy Savile once preyed on the patients and even STAFF were not safe from his abuse until one brave whistle blowing nurse stepped forward to expose the coverup. High Royds hospital in Menston, West Yorkshire, opened in 1888 and closed in 2003. The sprawling estate had its own butcher, dairy farm, bakery, shops, cobbler's workshops and gardens and farmland on which patients were put to work.
