Cw 7548 DRS 66304 Bamber Bridge 6K05 16.4.2021 A Network Rail engineers train from Carlisle to Crewe passes Bamber Bridge level crossing in Lancashire. The steel work over the track is to support the signal box that is in a poor condition. The signal box is a unique three storey flat roofed building that overhangs the tracks. It was built by the Lancashire and Yorkshire railway and opened in October 1906. Since November 1972 the signal box became the level crossing frame. The train left Carlisle 12.46 hrs and is passing Bamber Bridge which is to the south of Preston at 16.20 having travelled down the Settle and Carlisle line. The locomotive is Direct Rail Services 66304. The train is running under headcode or train reporting number 6K05.
