Malana village in Indian Himalayan state Himachal Pradesh is, by local oral tradition, inhabited by descendants of the soldiers of the Alexander's (the Great) army. Village lies at altitude of 3, 000 meters above sea level. Inhabitants are visibly of different stock than all the people in the region. They look like the people from Balkans to me. It is said that it is the oldest democracy in the world. Their language is also completely different from all the nearby languages. These days main economy is connected with cannabis that grows abundantly. "Malana cream" as it is called is allegedly the best charas in all India. This wooden building is their temple, rebuilt after the great fire that destroyed half of the village
