Chinese workers have completed the last pair of stayed-cable central buckles installation of the 2, 390-meter-long Dongting Lake Bridge. The bridge is a part of the Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway, built over the watershed of the Dongting Lake in Qili Mountain area, Yueyang city. The main bridge completes construction after its forty pairs of stayed-cable central buckles successfully installed. It is the world's second and China's first big-span steel beam suspension bridge. The bridge is expected to be put into operation by the Spring Festival of 2018. By then, the whole line of Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway will open to traffic.
