In yet another example of the limitless ingenuity of Chinese farmers, a Hunan farmer and his son have made a thriving business, raking in more than a million yuan in revenue each year by making and selling realistic model Transformers. When the Transformers films began to explode in popularity in China (the latest installment is the highest grossing film in China of all time), farmer Yu Zhilin of Zhangmu township in Hengyang county saw a promising business opportunity. With a background in the fine arts to work from, an abandoned factory to work in, used car parts and images downloaded from the internet to work with and a son to help out, he began to make some pretty incredible Transformers models. It was understandably difficult at first, according to Sina News. The first model took him three years to complete, but with experience and his son's help, he has now turned himself into the unquestioned top amateur Transformers-builder. The father and son's work attracts a constant stream of visitors and brings in a tidy profit of more than one million RMB each year. They are reportedly really excited about the next Transformers flick.
